Seth Rogen Says Writers Should Avoid Using AI for Scripts
Seth Rogen stated in a recent interview that people inclined to use artificial intelligence for script writing should pursue another occupation. He expressed that he enjoys the writing process and sees no appeal in tools that reduce the amount of writing required.
realitytea.comSeth Rogen said individuals considering artificial intelligence to assist with script creation should not pursue writing as a career. The comments came during an interview with Brut published on Thursday at the Cannes Film Festival. Rogen stated that he does not understand the purpose of the technology in this context.
He added that videos claiming Hollywood is finished often feature low-quality results. He noted that he would never seek a shortcut in script development because he likes the process itself. Rogen said the idea of a tool that reduces writing holds no appeal for him.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences recently updated its rules to limit the use of AI in performances considered for Oscar nominations. Rogen attended the festival in support of the animated film Tangles, which features voice performances by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Abbi Jacobson, Bryan Cranston, Sarah Silverman, Bowen Yang, Wanda Sykes, Beanie Feldstein and Samira Wiley.
Rogen also serves as a producer on the project.
