Six Players Set for WNBA All-Star 3-Point Contest in Chicago
No. 1 draft pick Azzi Fudd will compete Friday in Chicago alongside Rhyne Howard, Marina Mabrey and three other players. Three invited players declined to participate.

Six players will compete in the WNBA All-Star 3-point contest on Friday in Chicago: Rhyne Howard, Marina Mabrey, Bridget Carleton, Natisha Hiedeman, Janelle Salaun and Azzi Fudd. The Dallas Wings rookie joins Atlanta's Rhyne Howard, Toronto's Marina Mabrey, Portland's Bridget Carleton, Seattle's Natisha Hiedeman and Golden State's Janelle Salaun.
Fudd is the fourth rookie in league history to enter the event, following Kelsey Mitchell in 2018, Howard in 2022 and Sonia Citron in 2025.
No rookie has won the contest, though Howard reached the final round as a rookie. Howard and Mabrey are the only two participants with prior experience in the event. ESPN reported that reigning champion Sabrina Ionescu, Caitlin Clark and Kayla McBride were invited but declined.
Mabrey leads the league with 82 three-pointers made this season and tied the WNBA single-game scoring record with 53 points earlier this year, hitting nine threes in that game. Howard ranks second with 79 made threes.
The six participants occupy the top 11 spots in made threes per game, led by Mabrey at 3.3 and Howard at 3.2. The contest features two timed rounds with racks at five arc locations. Four balls per rack count one point and one money ball counts two.
An all-money-ball rack awards two points each, and two logo pedestals award three points. The top two first-round scorers advance to the final. The event starts at 8 p.m. The WNBA Shooting Stars competition will also occur Friday.
