SpaceX released specifications for its next-generation Starlink V5 terminal. The new unit is lighter, more power-efficient, and supports higher download speeds than the prior version.
SpaceX released details for its next-generation Starlink V5 terminal. The unit features a smaller and lighter design than the V4 model. The terminal supports download speeds up to 375 Mbps. Average power consumption is listed at 35-50 watts, a 50 percent reduction from the V4.
The dish measures 35 percent smaller than the V4 and weighs 2.4 pounds. That weight is 62 percent less than the previous version. The terminal maintains the same 110-degree field of view and software-assisted manual orientation as the V4. Weather resistance ratings remain IP67 Type 4, with snow-melt capability up to 40 mm per hour and an operating temperature range of -30°C to 50°C.
The package includes a Router Mini with Wi-Fi 6.
The router provides dual-band 2x2 MU-MIMO, two 1 Gbps RJ45 Ethernet ports, and coverage up to 2,200 square feet. The system supports up to 235 connected devices and is mesh-compatible with earlier Starlink routers. Accessories include a 15-meter Starlink cable, a 2-meter Ethernet cable, a 1.5-meter power cable, a pipe adapter, power supply, Router Mini stand, and kickstand.
