Spencer Pratt Uses AI Videos in Los Angeles Mayoral Campaign

Former reality television personality Spencer Pratt is running for mayor of Los Angeles against incumbent Karen Bass and City Council member Nithya Raman. The primary election is scheduled for June 2. Washington Examiner columnist Joe Concha discussed Pratt's campaign on the Fox News program Hannity on Friday. Concha said Pratt's AI-generated videos have received positive attention.

One video shows Pratt portrayed as Batman protecting the city from the Joker, who is depicted as Mayor Karen Bass. Another video presents a "Pratt summer" theme that references problems in the city and includes imagery drawn from Charli XCX's album branding. A third video uses sarcasm to address criticisms of Pratt. The videos have been shared on social media.

"He has a crossover appeal where there is no 'R' or 'D' next to his name, but a guy who just wants to solve major, major problems in the second biggest city in the country," Concha said. "These AI ads that he is doing are absolute bangers, they're effective, they're biting, and they're hilarious, and they will change the way campaign ads are done for the foreseeable future," Concha said.

Concha said Pratt is performing well in polls and debates. Bass withdrew from a candidate forum after her first debate with Pratt.
