The integration, first announced in May, is now live for all Kobo account-based content and marks the first time an e-reader has connected directly to StoryGraph’s book community platform.
When a user finishes a book on a Kobo eReader, the title is automatically marked as “Read” on StoryGraph.
The feature works with both e-books and audiobooks on any Kobo device and Kobo’s apps, TechCrunch reported. StoryGraph was founded in 2019 by Nadia Odunayo and CTO Rob Frelow. Odunayo serves as founder and CEO.
The platform began as a side project without outside funding and has grown into a community of over 5 million readers. Kobo has 12 million users in 190 countries. StoryGraph offers charts about reading moods, pace, reading challenges, book clubs, and reading streaks.
A $5 per month Plus subscription adds deeper stats, filters, custom charts, and comparison tools. Pew Research data cited in the report shows 31% of U.S. adults read an e-book in the past year, up from 17% in 2011.
