T-Mobile is retiring several older phone plans introduced before its 5G network was fully deployed. Customers will be moved automatically to modern plans during their next billing cycle.
reviewjournal.comT-Mobile is retiring several of its oldest phone plans, some introduced nearly 15 years ago during the 3G and 4G eras. The company said these plans include limitations such as slowed data speeds, limited premium data, 480p video streaming, reduced hotspot data, and little or no international roaming.
All affected customers will be moved to a modern plan that includes enhanced features and a 5-year price guarantee on talk and text service.
Some customers may see their monthly bills increase, while others will experience no change or a modest adjustment. Customers who will see a price impact have already been notified, according to the company. The updates may also apply to connected device lines such as watches and tablets, as well as some home internet plans.
Impacted customers do not need to take any action, as the changes will occur automatically during the upcoming billing cycle. Customers can review other available plans through the T-Life app, the company website, or by contacting customer support. Each customer moving to a new plan will keep their current benefits while gaining improvements in network and service experiences, the company stated.
