Tesla to Begin U.S. Deliveries of Larger Three-Row Model Y in Late 2026
Usa Today reported that Tesla will introduce a six-passenger version of its Model Y to the American market after selling it in China since 2025. Deliveries of the long-wheelbase electric SUV are scheduled between October and November 2026.

Tesla will begin deliveries of a larger three-row Model Y electric SUV to American buyers between October and November 2026, Usa Today reported. The vehicle, already on sale in China since 2025, seats six passengers and replaces the discontinued Model X as the only new six-seat Tesla model available in the United States.
The Model Y L is a long-wheelbase variant roughly 7 inches longer than the standard Model Y. It offers 14.8 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row and 38 cubic feet behind the second row, along with 325 miles of driving range. Usa Today reported that the Premium Launch Series all-wheel-drive version starts at $61,990 before taxes and fees, compared with $39,990 for the rear-wheel-drive Model Y.
Buyers must pay a nonrefundable $250 order fee to reserve the vehicle.
Launch Series models include traffic-aware cruise control, a 12-month Full-Self Driving (Supervised) trial, and 12 free months of Tesla Supercharging. Additional accessories such as roof racks can be purchased separately through the company website.
Usa Today reported that the Model Y L provides a more luxurious interior than the smaller Model Y and is positioned for larger families seeking a third row.
Tesla will likely add more trims after the initial Launch Series arrives.
