Texas Democrat Maureen Galindo loses runoff election with 36 percent of vote
Maureen Galindo received 36 percent of the vote in Tuesday's runoff for a Texas congressional seat. Her opponent Johnny Garcia received 63.8 percent.

Galindo had drawn criticism after a podcast interview weeks before the runoff in which she suggested that "billionaire Zionists" should be held at the Karnes ICE facility in Texas. 2 percent of the vote while Garcia received 27 percent. Turnout in the runoff fell 56 percent from the primary, and Galindo's total votes dropped about 44 percent from her primary performance.
Republican strategist Ben Ferguson said the outcome did not show Democrats rejecting extremism across the board. Political analyst Richard Gordon, who has worked on Democratic campaigns, told Fox News Digital that Galindo "hit her ceiling" and that 70 percent of primary voters had already chosen someone else.
