Texas Tech advanced to the Women's College World Series semifinals after defeating Florida in a super regional series. The Red Raiders will play top-seeded Alabama on Monday. In Game 1 against Florida, Texas Tech coach Gerry Glasco replaced pitcher Kaitlyn Terry with NiJaree Canady after she allowed a home run.

Canady gave up three runs before the Red Raiders regained the lead and she closed out the 10-8 victory.

Canady leads Division I with a 1.04 career ERA.

She has recorded 100 wins and more than 1,000 strikeouts. She is one of five players in NCAA history to earn Women's College World Series All-Tournament honors at two different schools. Canady began her career at Stanford, where she was named National Freshman of the Year. She later transferred to Texas Tech after signing what was reported as the first $1 million NIL deal in softball history.

The semifinal against Alabama marks Canady's fourth appearance at the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City. Texas Tech reached this stage after a series win over Florida.
