Three Former Champions Inducted Into International Boxing Hall of Fame
Gennadiy Golovkin, Antonio Tarver and Nigel Benn were inducted Sunday into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota, New York. The ceremony at Turning Stone Casino also honored cut men, a referee, a physician and two journalists.

Gennadiy Golovkin finished his career with a record of 42-2-1 and 37 knockouts. He recorded 20 consecutive title defenses at middleweight after winning his first belt in 2010.
Antonio Tarver ended with a mark of 31-6-1 and 22 knockouts. He defeated Roy Jones Jr. twice, including a 2004 knockout that ended Jones' long unbeaten streak.
Benn retired at 42-5-1 with 35 knockouts.
He held titles at both middleweight and super middleweight. Anber worked with fighters including Oleksandr Usyk and Deontay Wilder over a 48-year career. Naoko Fujioka and Jackie Nava entered as women's champions. Fujioka became Japan's first five-division titleholder; Nava won consecutive belts at bantamweight and super bantamweight in 2005.
Journalist Kevin Iole and the late broadcaster Alex Wallau were inducted in the observer category. Golovkin declined a request to repeat his signature phrase about a "Big Drama Show" during post-ceremony remarks.
