Timberwolves Agree to Five-Year, $112 Million Deal With Guard Ayo Dosunmu
The Minnesota Timberwolves reached a five-year, $112 million agreement with guard Ayo Dosunmu that includes a player option in the fifth year. The deal was finalized hours after the team traded forward Julius Randle to the Brooklyn Nets.

The Minnesota Timberwolves agreed Monday night to a five-year, $112 million contract with guard Ayo Dosunmu that includes a player option in the fifth season. The agreement came hours after the Timberwolves traded three-time All-Star forward Julius Randle to the Brooklyn Nets. Dosunmu arrived from the Chicago Bulls in February in exchange for four second-round picks and guard Rob Dillingham.
Dosunmu averaged 15.6 points in 29.2 minutes per game across a 10-game playoff run. He scored 43 points off the bench in Game 4 of the first-round series against the Denver Nuggets on the same night starting guard Donte DiVincenzo suffered a torn right Achilles.
Persistent right calf trouble limited Dosunmu late in the regular season. He missed Game 6 against the Nuggets and Game 1 against the San Antonio Spurs because of right calf tightness. Dosunmu returned in the second round and averaged 9.4 points on 36 percent shooting in five games against the Spurs.
Schwartz of Excel Sports Management negotiated the contract with Timberwolves executives. The team made signing Dosunmu long term a priority after his postseason performance. Dosunmu and guard Anthony Edwards developed on-court chemistry after the February trade.
