TMZ founder Harvey Levin approached the FBI with a plan to pay bitcoin demanded in letters about Nancy Guthrie's kidnapping and track where the funds went, @CBSNews reported. Levin described the proposal to CBS News' Anna Schecter as an effort to "follow the path" of the cryptocurrency.
Levin said he did not hear back from the FBI for about a month after making the approach. He told Schecter that the lack of response led him to think the agency was "ghosting" him.
