Toledo Police Say All 12 Shooting Victims Stable After Old West End Festival Incident

All 12 victims wounded in a shooting near the Old West End Festival in Toledo, Ohio, are now in stable condition, police said Monday. The victims range in age from 14 to 61 and continue to improve after the incident that occurred Saturday evening, authorities stated.
Investigators believe at least two gunmen were involved and were likely firing at each other, Deputy Chief Joseph Heffernan said during a news conference. m. Saturday to reports of a shooting near Delaware Avenue and Glenwood Avenue, close to the festival site.
No arrests have been made and police have not released suspect descriptions or identified a motive, the department said.
"Investigators continue to make progress and are following multiple leads in connection with Saturday's shooting near the Old West End Festival," police posted on X. "The Toledo Police Department appreciates the assistance and cooperation received thus far," the department added.
Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine said he was confident investigators would identify those responsible for what he described as a "senseless" crime. Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz wrote that the city has faced adversity before and that residents always rally together.
"Toledo is resilient & it will emerge stronger because of the unity we show in this moment," the mayor stated on X. Police encouraged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111 and noted that tipsters may remain anonymous.
