Cassell added that Kahnle’s name appeared on the lineup card for the WooSox game on Tuesday. Kahnle said farewell to manager Iggy Suarez after the team’s previous game against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.
Suarez told Cassell, “We’ll definitely miss him if he’s not here. But yeah, other than that, that’s all. 11 ERA while helping the club reach the World Series.
He signed a minor-league deal with Boston after pitching for the Detroit Tigers in 2025. The Red Sox have sought bullpen consistency throughout the season. Whether the team will still add Kahnle to its 40-man roster or whether he will pursue free agency remains unclear.
