Top 2027 Quarterback Recruit Elijah Haven Commits to Alabama
Elijah Haven, ranked as the top quarterback in the 2027 recruiting class, announced his commitment to the University of Alabama. He chose Alabama over finalists including Georgia, Auburn, and Florida. This marks the second 2027 quarterback commitment for Alabama under coach Kalen DeBoer.

com. Haven made the announcement on his Instagram account, stating, “I will be going to the University of Alabama. Roll Tide, man. Roll Tide. Wake up. Haven is the second quarterback in the 2027 class to commit to Alabama, following four-star recruit Trent Seaborn.
He attends Dunham High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he led the team to a state title in 2025. Haven measures 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds.
to 247Sports, Haven is rated as the second overall player in the Class of 2027 and the top player in Louisiana.
“Supersized quarterback that is going to have a chance to be the face of the franchise with his tools," — Andrew Ivins, director of scouting at 247Sports (nypost.com). In the evaluation from last December, Ivins added that Haven projects as a multi-year starter for a College Football Playoff contender due to his physical gifts and attitude.”
commented on Alabama’s coaching staff, noting, “It is a great school with great coaches. ” He mentioned that former quarterback coach Nick Sheridan has moved to Michigan State, and Bryan Ellis has taken over the role. This commitment is the second consensus five-star quarterback for Alabama under head coach Kalen DeBoer, following Keelon Russell.
Russell is expected to potentially replace Ty Simpson and performed in Alabama’s spring game by throwing for 240 yards and four touchdowns.
