The woman sustained a gash to the head and multiple fractures to her right arm and right leg. First responders took her to a hospital, where she was listed in stable condition Monday evening.
Conditions Before the Incident The tree came down after several days of rain and soggy conditions, officials said. The tree was saturated with water when it fell. The falling tree also partially crushed multiple cars parked nearby. Memorial Day brought roughly 2 inches of rain to the city, concluding a three-day stretch of on-and-off precipitation.
