Head coach Liam Coen said Lawrence looked like he did in the final seven games of the 2025 season, when he threw 18 touchdown passes, rushed for four more, and turned the ball over five times. The Jaguars won all seven games, captured the AFC South title, and Lawrence finished fifth in MVP voting.
Coen attributed the improvement to a calmer approach that lets Lawrence call a play, visualize it, and execute without thinking about mechanics.
