President Trump recorded mixed results Tuesday in Republican primaries and runoffs in Alabama, Georgia, and Oklahoma.
The president’s endorsed candidate won the Alabama Senate runoff by a double-digit margin. In Georgia, the Trump-backed candidate lost the Republican runoff for governor to billionaire Rick Jackson by a few points. Lt. Gov. Burt Jones had received endorsements from both Trump and Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp.

Council member Robert White defeated Council member Brooke Pinto in the Democratic primary to succeed retiring Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton. Elissa Silverman led a special election for a D.C. Council seat. Oye Owolewa led in another open Council seat primary. Trump’s choice for Oklahoma governor advanced to an August runoff against state Attorney General Gentner Drummond.
