Trump branding appears on passports, coins, airport and federal buildings

A limited run of 25,000 to 30,000 special-edition U.S. passports went on sale July 6 at the Washington Passport Agency. The documents display a portrait of President Trump at the Resolute Desk with text from the Declaration of Independence and his signature.

The State Department said the passports are available only through in-person applications at the Washington location and carry no extra fee. The design was first announced in April and marks the first time a living president has appeared on a U.S. passport.

Mint plans to produce 47 proof 24-karat gold coins bearing President Trump’s image, each weighing 19.7 ounces. A federal judge in Oregon denied a lawsuit seeking to block the coins, ruling the plaintiff lacked standing. New $100 bills carrying President Trump’s signature began printing in June and are scheduled for distribution through the summer.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the signature is appropriate given the president’s economic record.

Airport and building changes Florida lawmakers approved renaming Palm Beach International Airport to President Donald J. Trump International Airport in February. Highway signs have been updated, and the IATA code will change from PBI to DJT on August 18.

Three-story banners showing President Trump’s face and campaign slogans were installed on multiple federal buildings in Washington, including the departments of Justice, Labor, Interior and Agriculture. Congressional Democrats have criticized the displays.

Additional commemorative items Social Security cards issued to babies born after July 2 carry “Freedom 250” branding. A cryptocurrency known as $Trump Coin was released three days before the January 2025 inauguration. An investment visa program announced in February 2025 offers expedited permanent residency in exchange for a $1 million donation and $15,000 processing fee.
