Trump Calls on House Republicans to Back Budget Resolution Containing Election and Spending Provisions

President Trump urged all House Republicans to vote yes this week on a budget resolution that would fold in as much of the Save America Act as possible, including proof-of-citizenship requirements and curbs on mail-in ballots except for voters who are ill, disabled, serving in the military or traveling. In the Truth Social post he also called for aid to farmers and additional military funding.

He described the resolution as an important first step toward final passage of a budget bill and said House Republicans must unify to fight for the Save America Act. The statement thanked Speaker Mike Johnson, House Budget Chairman Jodey Arrington and several committee members for starting the effort.

Those members named in the post were Lloyd Smucker, Ron Estes, Andrew Clyde, Josh Brecheen, Erin Houchin, Mike Carey, Blake Moore, Jay Obernolte and Tom McClintock.
