" Photos emerged of the meeting at the Vatican last week. Johnson posted on X on Friday that it was an honor to share time with Pope Leo XIV yesterday. Johnson's office told Fox News Digital that Chicagoans have had more than enough of Trump's blasphemous war in Iran.

Johnson led a Chicago delegation to the Vatican on Thursday that included George Floyd family lawyer Antonio Romanucci. During the meeting, Johnson presented an array of apparel from Chicago, including a Chicago Cubs hat. Trump posted on Truth Social last month that he does not want a Pope who thinks it is OK for Iran to have a nuclear weapon.

He also criticized the Pope for thinking it is terrible that America attacked Venezuela, a country that was sending massive amounts of drugs into the United States and emptying their prisons including murderers, drug dealers, and killers into the country.

Trump told Pope Leo XIV last month to get his act together, use common sense, stop catering to the Radical Left, and focus on being a Great Pope not a Politician. Pope Leo XIV previously stated he has no fear of the Trump administration and that his calls for peace should not be seen as a political attack.

Pope Leo XIV previously stated that the things he says are certainly not meant as attacks on anyone and that he does not think the message of the Gospel is meant to be abused in the way that some people are doing. There have been months of tension between President Donald Trump and Pope Leo XIV over the Pope's criticism of the administration's hard-line immigration policies and foreign policy.

Pope Leo XIV was born and raised in Chicago.

Fox News Digital reached out to the Vatican for comment.
