Trump Media & Technology Group will sell institutional customers faster access to posts on its Truth Social platform through a paid application programming interface beginning August 1. The Truth API will provide a direct, licensed, real-time feed of the platform’s most market-moving posts from the top 10 accounts and deliver them to customers in milliseconds, the company said.
Kevin McGurn, interim chief executive officer at TMTG, stated that markets already move on Truth Social posts.
He added that the API advances the company’s strategy to monetize proprietary assets through a high-margin, recurring revenue stream. President Donald Trump uses Truth Social as his primary platform for announcing policy decisions. His posts have moved oil markets, including comments on Iran and the Strait of Hormuz.
Announcements about levying tariffs in spring 2025 caused stocks to drop, while posts backing off some tariffs caused them to surge. Trump Media & Technology Group shares were down about 1.5 percent in afternoon trading on the day of the announcement and are down almost 30 percent this year.
