Trump Mobile T1 Phone Assembled in Miami After U.S. Manufacturing Claims Removed
The T1 Phone reached limited early distribution nearly a year after its June 2025 announcement. Final assembly occurs in Miami from imported components, and the company no longer states the device is made in the United States.
The VergeThe T1 Phone, sold by Trump Mobile, has entered limited distribution almost a year after its June 2025 announcement. Early units reached journalists and YouTubers, while regular customer shipments remain unconfirmed. They described the process as involving roughly ten parts but declined to provide further operational details.
The Federal Trade Commission requires that products labeled “made in the USA” undergo all significant processing and contain virtually all components within the United States. Trump Mobile executives acknowledged that meeting this standard would increase costs.
Industry observers cited the absence of specialized equipment, engineering expertise, and large-scale labor capacity for phone production in the United States. One former Apple supplier noted that U.S. facilities do not produce components at the scale or precision required for modern smartphones.
Trump Mobile said components are sourced from “favored” or “friendly” nations and that the company seeks to reduce reliance on China. It has not disclosed the final country of origin for the T1 Phone. The device’s specifications and design resemble the 2024 HTC U24 Pro.
Some units of that model carry “Made in China” markings, and Taiwan’s certification database lists a Chinese manufacturer for the phone.
