Speaking in an interview with NBC News' Meet the Press, Trump stated that any steps to release funds or ease penalties would follow an agreement. "Comes after," he said.
"Yeah. If they behave, if they do a good job, we start talking," Trump said. Trump also said he is not requiring Lebanon to be part of a short-term deal with Iran. The interview was conducted by NBC News' Meet the Press and published June 7, 2026.
