Trump to Attend G7 Summit in France With Meetings on Iran and Ukraine

President Trump is scheduled to travel to Evian, France, for the annual G7 summit, where he will hold bilateral meetings with Middle East leaders and attend a session on Ukraine, according to U.S. officials. The meetings will include Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, and UAE’s Emir Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

U.S. officials said the White House contacted Saudi Arabia about a bilateral meeting, but the schedule did not work out. The officials also said Trump will attend a Ukraine session at the summit. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney arrived in Paris on Thursday to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron ahead of the gathering.

The officials said Iran will be a major topic at the summit. They did not provide details on any potential agreement or timeline. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity during a briefing call with reporters on Saturday.
