President Trump announced the expansion of the federal drug-pricing site TrumpRx to include more than 600 generic medications. The platform now directs users to discounted options from several manufacturers and delivery services.

The revamped site allows visitors to search for generic versions of brand-name drugs with one click. Users can also view neighborhood price maps and access delivery services. The site does not sell medicine directly but points to external websites that do.

TrumpRx previously listed dozens of brand-name drugs with steep discounts through agreements with pharmaceutical manufacturers. Several medications are now advertised at discounts exceeding 80 percent off original list prices.

Ingelheim added diabetes drugs Jentadueto and Jentadueto XR, as well as COPD inhaler Striverdi Respimat. Novartis agreed to provide access to Mayzent, leukemia treatment Rydapt, and lung-cancer drug Tabrecta. Amgen added migraine treatment Aimovig, cholesterol drug Repatha, and Humira biosimilar Amjevita.

GSK added several inhalers including Incruse, Arnuity, and Anoro Ellipta along with antiviral drug Relenza.

The diabetes drug Glucophage is listed at around $20 while its generic version metformin appears at $8.42. Wegovy is listed starting at $149 compared with an original price of $1,349.02. Ozempic is listed starting at $199 compared with a list price of $1,027.51. Cetrotide is listed at $22.50 down from $316.12.

For decades, Americans paid the highest drug prices anywhere in the world, by far. We now pay the lowest price paid for anybody in any country.

President Trump, Monday (New York Post)

The administration has described the platform as part of a broader effort to tie domestic pricing more closely to rates charged overseas. Officials said the expansion is intended to ensure consumers receive the lowest possible cost on prescriptions.

The platform’s growth comes ahead of the November midterm elections. Officials have touted agreements with drugmakers to lower prices for government programs and offer medications directly to consumers. The site initially listed dozens of branded drugs ranging from diabetes and weight-loss medications to fertility treatments, cancer drugs, and respiratory inhalers.
