In the letter she stated that her husband "faces major challenges in the coming weeks and months" and that she could not ask him to face the fight alone while she remained in the demanding position.
During her time at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, Gabbard advanced efforts to increase transparency and reduce the size of the intelligence community, saving more than $700 million per year. She also established a Weaponization Working Group and declassified more than half a million pages of government records.
