Two Airbus A400M Atlas aircraft from the Turkish Air Force departed earlier today carrying a 67-person search-and-rescue and humanitarian aid detachment bound for Venezuela. The group includes a 38-person AFAD Search-Rescue and humanitarian aid team drawn from Istanbul, Izmir and Denizli.
Additional members comprise a 5-person UMKE team from the Ministry of Health, a 2-person humanitarian aid team from the Turkish Red Crescent, and a 22-person team from the Ministry of National Defense’s Humanitarian Aid Brigade.
The aircraft also transported two search dogs and three equipped search and rescue vehicles.
