Two Car Bombings Kill Two Men and Wound Child in Jaffa and Holon

Two car bombings on Sunday morning killed at least two men in Jaffa and Holon, Israel Police said. One person was wounded in the Jaffa blast and taken to Wolfson Medical Center, where authorities later identified the victim as the six-year-old child of the deceased driver.

The 38-year-old driver of the Holon vehicle suffered critical wounds and severe burns before being declared dead at a hospital, Magen David Adom and authorities confirmed.

Four or five other vehicles parked nearby were destroyed in that explosion. Police said the Jaffa vehicle traveled about 100 meters before detonating. A kindergarten stood roughly 50 meters from the site.

Investigators are examining whether the Jaffa incident was a revenge killing connected to the murder of a child in the same area the previous week. -Ch. Haim Sargarof told reporters at the scene. A third suspected device near Bloomfield Stadium was examined by the bomb squad shortly after 2:15 p.m.

And ruled out as an explosive threat. Israel Police stated the explosions appear tied to criminal activity. Separately, Tel Aviv's La Guardia Tunnel along the Ayalon Highway was closed to westbound traffic after a man's body was found inside.

Police said there was no indication of criminal involvement in that case.
