Matteo Arnaldi reached the French Open semifinals when Matteo Berrettini retired with a left hip injury while trailing 7-5, 5-2 in their quarterfinal. Berrettini had received treatment earlier in the second set. The match took place on a windy day inside Court Philippe Chatrier.

Italian players set historic semifinal The matchup marks the first all-Italian men's semifinal in Grand Slam history. Both players will contest their first Grand Slam semifinal on Friday. Cobolli dropped just two sets across five matches to reach this stage. He will enter the top 10 of the rankings next week regardless of the semifinal result.

Zverev will play No. 26 Jakub Mensik in the remaining semifinal. The winner will face the Italian semifinal victor for the title. >"We have to be happy for Italian tennis." — Flavio Cobolli, June 3, 2026 (ESPN) Cobolli said the week has been the best of his life and described maintaining the same post-match routine, including using the locker-room shower once used by Rafael Nadal.
