Two NBA teams agree to trade four players and multiple draft picks

A professional basketball team agreed to send four players in their 20s and several future draft picks to another club in a transaction involving only those two teams. The package includes Kasparas Jakucionis, the No. 13 pick in Tuesday's draft, along with unprotected first-round picks in 2031 and 2033, a first-round pick swap in 2030, and a 2033 second-round pick.

Both clubs will finalize the deal on July 6.

Officials said the agreement leaves open the possibility of later expansion. The receiving club selected the package over a competing offer that included two first-round picks. A general manager negotiated the agreement after informing teams at the May draft combine that the franchise was open to deals.

One player has one guaranteed year remaining on his contract plus a 2027 player option. He had listed the receiving club among his preferred destinations. Officials chose the offer to gain greater roster flexibility and long-term competitiveness under a new head coach.
