The United States has lifted its naval blockade of Iran following the signing of a new agreement on Wednesday. The pact contains 14 key points, one of which is the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
He later wrote that he expects a ceasefire to take effect on all fronts, including between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon. Vice-President JD Vance said Iran would not receive any money under the deal unless it meets the obligations set out by the United States.
Khamenei stated that he initially disagreed with the deal but ultimately allowed it to proceed. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Iran did not trade its dignity in reaching the deal and praised the country's diplomacy and resilience.
Iran will now begin a 60-day negotiation period aimed at reaching what the agreement calls the final deal. A formal signing ceremony planned for tomorrow in Switzerland has been cancelled, according to Pakistan. Vice-President JD Vance said the United States still plans to attend talks but that the timing is now uncertain.
