U.S. Marshals Arrest Andrew and Tristan Tate in Miami; Brothers Deny UK Charges

U.S. Marshals arrested Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate outside a private event at the James L. Knight Center in Miami on Saturday afternoon. The detentions occurred under a sealed warrant hours before Andrew Tate was scheduled to host a bare-knuckle boxing event.

Spectators were ordered to stand back as agents placed the brothers in handcuffs and drove them away in unmarked vehicles. The United Kingdom is seeking extradition of both men. The Crown Prosecution Service charged Andrew Tate, 39, with seven additional counts of rape, three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and 19 charges relating to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography.

The alleged offenses took place between July 2010 and August 2017 in an area north of London. The new charges involve four additional alleged victims and bring the total number of alleged victims in the UK case to seven.

The brothers are dual British and American citizens. They moved to Romania in 2016, were arrested there in December 2022 on separate allegations that later collapsed, and returned to the United States last year. The brothers are expected to appear at Miami's federal courthouse on Monday.

They have denied all wrongdoing. Bedfordshire Police said officers have worked with the Crown Prosecution Service and international agencies on the investigation. Malcolm McHaffie, head of the CPS Special Crime Division, said the charges followed receipt of a new file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police.
