U.S. Men’s National Team Advances to World Cup Knockout Stage Despite Loss to Turkey

The U.S. Men’s National Team advanced to the World Cup knockout stage despite losing to Turkey. The team will play Bosnia and Herzegovina in the round of 32 next Wednesday. Ivory Coast secured its first-ever place in the knockout stage with a 2-0 victory over Curaçao on 25 June 2026.

The result completed a Group E campaign that opened with a 1-0 win over Ecuador and included a loss to Germany. Ivory Coast will face either France or Norway on 30 June. Colombia defeated DR Congo 1-0 in a Group K match played in Guadalajara on 25 June 2026.

Daniel Muñoz scored the only goal in the 76th minute. Colombia opened its campaign with a 3-1 win over Uzbekistan while DR Congo earned a 1-1 draw against Portugal in its opening match. England played Ghana in a Group I fixture at Boston Stadium on the same day.
