The United States men's national team lost to Germany 2-1 in an international friendly at Soldier Field in Chicago on June 6, 2026. Antonee Robinson scored the Americans' first goal in the 37th minute with a first-time volley that rippled the back of the net. The goal marked Robinson's second of the 2025-2026 season, following a spot kick for Fulham late in the year.

Robinson left the match in the 61st minute with hamstring cramps. Coach Mauricio Pochettino said Robinson told him, “Coach, it’s only cramps. ” Pochettino replied, “We’ll see. ” He added that scoring would help Robinson ahead of the World Cup opener.

“For sure, it helps in the first game of the World Cup,” Pochettino said. ” Pochettino also noted uncertainty about the injury. “Just cramps. Hope that it’s cramps,” he said. “But I cannot be sure. It’s what they say.

The team will travel to Los Angeles, recover, and begin training on Monday to prepare for a match against Paraguay. Members of the USMNT’s 1994 World Cup team were honored on the field before the game. Robinson remains an unquestioned starter and a pivotal piece through whom the offense often flows.
