Regional airspace and civilian impacts Kuwait’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation announced a temporary closure of Kuwait’s airspace. Several commercial flights were holding over the Persian Gulf and flights were being diverted to other airports. Kuwait International Airport took a direct hit in recent days, killing one person and wounding dozens.
Cross-border alerts and incidents Israel warned residents in the north to seek shelter early on June 11 after detecting suspected incoming fire from Lebanon. The U.S. Embassy in Jordan issued a warning that reports indicate missiles, drones or rockets were in Jordanian airspace.
Iran stated it targeted Jordan’s Muwaffaq Salti Air Base. A U.S. Army attack helicopter crashed near the Strait of Hormuz on June 10 after colliding with an Iranian drone. A drone boat rescued the two crew members. The President stated the crew members were uninjured and blamed Iran for the crash.
