The high yield came in at 2.169 percent, up from 1.896 percent at the previous auction.

The bid-to-cover ratio reached 2.52, slightly above the prior reading of 2.47. Officials awarded 35.14 percent of bids at the high yield. Primary dealers took 11.1 percent of the offering. Direct bidders received 27.5 percent, up from 24.0 percent previously. Indirect bidders accepted 61.4 percent, down from 68.5 percent at the last sale.

The when-issued yield stood at 2.15 percent ahead of the results.

The tail measured plus 1.9 basis points. The sale reflects current demand for inflation-protected debt amid shifting rate expectations.
