U.S. Strikes Hit Iranian Nuclear Site and Tabriz

U.S. forces struck Iran's Darkhovin nuclear plant for a ninth consecutive night of attacks, Iranian officials said. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi condemned the strike on the facility, which he said was for peaceful purposes. Officials reported no radiation leak.

A separate U.S. strike on a military site southwest of Tabriz killed one person and wounded several others, according to Majid Farshi, director general of crisis management in East Azerbaijan province. Rescue and security teams responded immediately after the early-morning attack.

Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said the United States will face "consequences of any adventure" if it attempts to seize Kharg Island. He added that some Iranian leaders are "counting down the minutes to welcome" U.S. forces in any ground invasion.

Baghaei also stated that diplomatic messages from the U.S. have reached Tehran through intermediaries despite the fighting. He said the responsibility for the recent escalation lies with the United States.

A vessel caught fire in the Strait of Hormuz after being hit by a projectile eight nautical miles northwest of Kumzar, Oman, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations reported. The crew abandoned the ship and was rescued by a tug; the vessel remains adrift.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi discussed ways to restore security in the region during a phone call. Abdelatty condemned recent Iranian attacks on Jordan and expressed Cairo's solidarity.
