UK records over 1,100 small boat arrivals in five days

Hundreds of migrants crossed the English Channel over five consecutive days, with at least 1,162 people reaching UK waters between Friday and today. GB News reported three boats carrying at least 150 people arrived yesterday alone. Friday saw 394 arrivals, followed by 287 on Saturday and 231 on Sunday. Officials stated that continued daily launches could push the five-day total above 1,200.

Minister said migrants arriving by small boats are for the first time being detained and returned. Home Office data showed 40,280 small boat arrivals in the year ending December 2025 and 2,750 returns in the year ending March 2026. A senior maritime security source told GB News that organized crime groups are expanding operations to avoid detection.

The source described a boat launch from a beach south of Dieppe, roughly 100 miles from the usual departure points near Dunkirk.

New funding agreement The UK Government agreed a £660 million deal with France to increase security along the coast. Under the agreement, £500 million will fund enforcement on northern French beaches and £160 million is conditional on measurable reductions in crossings.

Almost 1,100 law enforcement, intelligence and military personnel will be deployed. Funding will end after one year if the new tactics do not produce results.
