Ukrainian forces struck two oil refineries and a Russian border patrol vessel overnight. The targets included the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat complex in Bashkortostan and the Afipsky refinery in Krasnodar. The Salavat facility processes about 10 million tons of oil annually.
Early reports indicate the AVT-6 distillation unit and other production areas were hit. Russia stated that fires resulted from debris of intercepted drones.
Ukraine's navy sank the Russian FSB border guard ship Izumrud near Novorossiysk using a Sargan-3000 unmanned system. The 62.5-meter vessel, launched in 2014, displaced 630 to 750 tons. The ship participated in the November 2018 incident in the Kerch Strait when Russian forces seized three Ukrainian vessels and captured 24 sailors.
Ukrainian naval forces posted that revenge is inevitable. Ukrainian units also struck 11 additional vessels in the Sea of Azov during the same night.
