Ukrainian Drones Hit Warehouses and Oil Depot Near Moscow, Killing Eight

Ukrainian drones struck two warehouses belonging to major online retailer Wildberries and an oil depot near Moscow overnight, killing eight people and wounding more than 60 others, Russian officials said Saturday. The warehouse in Kotovsk in the Tambov region caught fire, killing seven night-shift workers and wounding 25, according to the regional governor.

The second warehouse in Elektrostal, about 50 kilometers east of Moscow, also burned, though the company said the fire there had been extinguished by Saturday morning.

An oil depot in Noginsk, just north of Elektrostal, was also hit, sparking a fire that prompted evacuations at a nearby maternity hospital and residential building, the Moscow region governor said. Drone debris struck a kindergarten building in Elektrostal and a residential building in Vladimir, though both fires were contained without casualties.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a Telegram post that the long-range strikes targeted "significant logistical facilities" used to supply sanctioned components for drone and navigation equipment production.

Ministry reported that its air defenses intercepted 379 Ukrainian drones over 19 Russian regions as well as Crimea, the Sea of Azov, and the Black Sea. Ukrainian special operations forces also conducted strikes in the Sea of Azov and occupied territory, Zelenskyy said.

The attacks are part of Kyiv's ongoing campaign against Russian energy infrastructure and military targets inside Russia, aimed at disrupting Moscow's war effort.
