Ukrainian drones strike two Russian refineries, prompting fuel limits in Siberia

Ukrainian drones struck an oil refinery in the Krasnodar region and another facility in the Yaroslavl region during nighttime raids, according to Ukrainian and Russian statements. Debris from the southern strike started a fire at the Slavyansk-na-Kubani plant, which processes nearly 4 million tons of crude annually and supplies fuel for export through Black Sea ports.

Regional authorities said one person died and another was injured in the Krasnodar area. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy posted on Telegram that the attacks reached two refineries and described them as long-range sanctions.

Fuel restrictions in Siberia Officials in Russia’s Irkutsk region limited fuel purchases to 50 liters per vehicle per day at state-run stations. Two private networks in Siberia had already imposed similar caps earlier in the month due to supply shortfalls. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said the government is reviewing fuel export agreements to protect domestic supply.

Russian forces said they intercepted 213 Ukrainian drones overnight, while Ukraine reported intercepting most of 142 Russian drones and eight missiles launched toward its territory.
