espn.comUmar Nurmagomedov will face David Martinez in the co-main event of UFC Abu Dhabi on July 25, 2026. The UFC announced the matchup Monday morning. Nurmagomedov, 30, has won his last two fights since losing a bantamweight title bout to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 311 in January 2025.
Petr Yan captured the 135-pound belt after that fight and is scheduled to defend it against Dvalishvili for the third time later in 2026. Martinez enters with a professional record of 14-1 and a 10-fight win streak. The 27-year-old Mexican is 3-0 inside the UFC Octagon since joining the promotion last year and is ranked No.
9 in the bantamweight division. Former light heavyweight champion Magomed Ankalaev is also booked for the card. Ankalaev will meet Khalil Rountree Jr. in his first fight since a knockout loss to Alex Pereira at UFC 320 in October 2025.
