The latest of three US air strikes hit areas near Sirik in Iran's Hormozgan province at 16:40 local time on July 18, 2026, @AJEnglish reported, leaving at least 116 telecommunication towers out of service in southern Iran. Hormozgan's governor stated that no civilian casualties had been recorded from the strikes.
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said the US has violated every aspect of the US-Iran MoU over the last week. Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said Iran has suspended its commitments to the MoU amid continuing US attacks.
The head of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jassim al-Budaiwi, accused Iran of carrying out war crimes in its attacks on Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan by targeting infrastructure and civilian facilities.
Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke by phone with his Emirati counterpart Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and both stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire between the US and Iran and a return to negotiations, according to Russia's foreign ministry.
