USS Abraham Lincoln Marks 210 Days at Sea Without Port Call Since December
The Nimitz-class carrier has operated without a port call since December 2025 while supporting strikes in the northern Arabian Sea. Carrier Strike Group 3 remains on station after the June memorandum of understanding with Iran.

The USS Abraham Lincoln has been underway for 210 consecutive days as of July 2026. The Nimitz-class carrier, flagship of Carrier Strike Group 3, left Naval Base San Diego on November 21, 2025, and made its last port call at Naval Base Guam on December 12 before proceeding to the Middle East.
After operations in the South China Sea, the ship entered the Indian Ocean and arrived in the northern Arabian Sea in late January.
Aircraft from Carrier Air Wing 9 flew sorties at the start of Operation Epic Fury and have continued launching strikes since the June 17 memorandum of understanding between the U.S. and Iran. Carrier Strike Group 3, which includes more than 5,000 sailors and marines, has stayed in the area to conduct retaliatory strikes during recent skirmishes.
Lt. Commander Alexis Travis wrote on Instagram on June 16 that the crew had claimed the record for most consecutive days at sea for any modern aircraft carrier. The previous mark was set by the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, which spent 206 days at sea in 2020.
The USS Gerald R. Ford completed a 326-day deployment in 2026 but made at least nine port calls. The USS Spruance, operating with the same strike group, has also been at sea since November 21 with only one port call in Guam.
The group’s destroyers provided Tomahawk strikes and air defense during the operation while the carrier’s air wing escorted commercial traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
