Utah Jazz guard Trey Alexander was taken from the court on a stretcher Monday night after suffering a left rib contusion in an NBA summer league game against the Chicago Bulls. The incident occurred at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas with just over two minutes left in the fourth quarter.
Alexander made contact with the Bulls' Caleb Wilson while driving toward the basket, tossed the ball toward the hoop and then clutched his side or abdomen before dropping to the ground.
The Jazz stated Tuesday that Alexander had a left rib contusion. He had signed a two-way deal with the team the previous week. Alexander, 23, played three seasons at Creighton and skipped his final year of eligibility to turn pro.
He was the G League rookie of the year for the 2024-25 season after appearing in 24 games for the Denver Nuggets that year and nine games for the New Orleans Pelicans last season.
