Vekic Beats Raducanu 6-0 7-6 in Queen's Club Final After Raducanu Saves Four Match Points
Vekic claimed her first WTA title in three years on the grass courts at Queen's Club. Raducanu reached the final after winning two matches on the same day but could not overcome an early deficit.
bbc.co.ukDonna Vekic defeated Emma Raducanu 6-0, 7-6 (8-6) in the women's singles final at the Queen's Club on 14 June 2026. The match took place on the grass courts at Queen's Club in London. Vekic won her first WTA title in three years.
Her previous title came at the 2023 Monterrey Open. She entered the main draw as a lucky loser after losing in qualifying to Anna Blinkova and after Marta Kostyuk withdrew injured before the tournament. Vekic is ranked world number 76 and is 29 years old.
Raducanu is the British number one and has not won a WTA title since the 2021 US Open. Raducanu reached the final after winning her quarter-final against Kamilla Rakhimova and her semi-final against Iva Jovic.
She played two singles matches on Saturday 13 June 2026 due to rain disruption earlier in the week. She wore strapping on her left thigh during the semi-final and the final after slipping on the baseline during her quarter-final win over Rakhimova. Raducanu lost the first set 6-0 in less than 30 minutes.
She received physio treatment at 5-0 down in the first set. She fought off three championship points at 6-5 in the second set and saved a fourth championship point on Vekic's serve in the tie-break before losing the match on Vekic's fifth championship point when she hit a forehand wide. Raducanu reached two finals in 2026 prior to Queen's, losing in Cluj in February and at Queen's on 14 June.
She has played only six matches from early February 2026 up to the Queen's final due to viral illness. The ranking points she earned at Queen's will place her on the brink of the world's top 30. Queen's Club is hosting the WTA event for the second consecutive year after a 52-year hiatus.
Vekic reached the 2024 Wimbledon semi-finals and won the Nottingham Open in 2017. "Right now it obviously really stings, so I'm just going to try and let myself feel it today - but try and get over it pretty quick," Raducanu said. "I haven't really played much this season, but to think I have made two finals so far, which I haven't done in years, it has to be, in a way, celebrated.
