Videos of Nepal Protest and 2025 EDSA March Posted as Recent Philippine Rallies
Footage from a September 2025 Nepal demonstration and the Trillion Peso March circulated on July 1 as evidence of new anti-corruption protests. Rappler identified the clips as misrepresentations posted during an Iglesia ni Cristo rally.

Videos posted on July 1, 2026, that claimed to show large crowds protesting corruption in the Philippines actually depicted a September 2025 demonstration in Nepal and the Trillion Peso March held that same month on EDSA. Rappler reported that one video had accumulated 208,000 views, 11,800 reactions, 1,100 shares, and 546 comments by July 8.
A second video reached an estimated 75,000 views, 4,800 reactions, 569 shares, and 246 comments.
One post carried the caption “Luzon Visayas Mindanao iisa ang sigaw! ” The first clip showed the Nepal protest that Rappler and VERA Files had already debunked in earlier false posts. The second clip matched footage from the September 2025 Trillion Peso March, with reverse image searches confirming similar TikTok posts from 2025 rather than 2026.
The videos appeared on the second day of an Iglesia ni Cristo rally that began June 30, 2026, in support of Senator Rodante Marcoleta. The rally produced heavy traffic, closed White Plains Avenue in Quezon City, and led to class suspensions. It continued for two more days, with the third day held at Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila.
Marcoleta surrendered to authorities on July 6 following an arrest order. He faces a plunder case involving P75 million in campaign donations received while serving as congressman. Rappler has previously published fact-checks on related claims about the INC protest and other rallies.
