Allie Kline, Interim CEO of Innovation Labs, said organizations generally know who is responsible for AI agents inside their own environments. She added that the challenge ahead involves agents operating across organizations, platforms, and services.
Kline stated that DNS is one of the few systems that already works across organizational boundaries and that DNSid establishes who is accountable without deciding whether an agent or its owner is trustworthy. Cerf said the internet has always evolved by addressing foundational infrastructure challenges before they became systemic constraints.
He added that AI agents are driving the next major architectural evolution and that questions of identity, accountability, and interoperability require the same thoughtful architectural approach that enabled the internet to scale.
