Coffee Talk Tokyo, a visual novel developed by Indonesia-based Toge Productions, was released on May 21. The game places the player in the role of a barista who interacts with a cast of characters that includes both humans and yōkai. The story is set in a near-future Tokyo that combines science-fiction and fantasy elements.

Characters include a recently retired salaryman who is also a kappa, a workaholic scientist raising a mixed-species daughter, and a coffee shop assistant with futuristic prosthetics.

Tokyo is the third entry in the Coffee Talk series.

Earlier games were set in a version of Seattle that included vampires and fairies. The new installment replaces those Western folklore figures with Japanese yōkai and ordinary humans who encounter supernatural situations.

Among the characters are a spirit-attuned pop star, a yuki-onna who runs a neighborhood restaurant, and the ghost of a teen girl. A half-beast, full-British husband and a ghost of a salaryman also appear. The game focuses on conversations that address personal, professional, and supernatural issues rather than action-based gameplay.
